Organic dried mango: the fruit, concentrated

Discover our strips of organic dried mango. Drying a fruit means removing its water — about 85 % of its weight — and keeping the rest: the sugar, the fibre, the aromas. Hence an intensity of flavour that fresh mango does not have, and a soft texture that gives a little resistance under the tooth.

No added sugar

Our dried mangoes contain no added sugar — nothing but the fruit. They do contain naturally occurring sugars, and plenty of them, since drying concentrates what was already there: this is a natural confectionery, and worth treating as one. A handful is enough.

No preservative either, and no sulphiting agent — which is why they are amber rather than the bright orange of industrial dried mango. Sulphite preserves the colour; we would rather do without.

In the kitchen

• As they are: as a snack, in a hiking bag, or mixed with organic cashew nuts.
• At breakfast: diced into muesli, porridge or yoghurt.
• Rehydrated: left overnight in plant milk, they swell and recover almost the texture of fresh fruit. That is the principle behind our overnight fonio with mango and cashew.
• In savoury cooking: with chicken, pork or a curry, where their sweetness balances the chilli.

A note on transparency

Unlike our other products, we do not show figures here: public composition data do not document unsulphited dried mango with no added sugar, and we would rather not put forward anything we cannot establish. An analysis of our batch is under way; the values will appear here as soon as they are available.
